The aim of the study course is to develop competencies of students in the basic issues of law. Students gain knowledge and skills in labour law and general provisions of property law, extensively study family law and inheritance law. The study course helps to understand the modern problems regarding property rights and obligations law.
•knowledge on the basics of the science of law, the evolution of the idea of rights, and on the functions and role of rights nowadays. Students gain an understanding of the leading branches of Latvia’s legal system.
•skills – students are competent in the legal system of Latvia, use sources of law, identify legal problems and significant facts needed to solve these problems, and develop legal documents;
•competences – knowledge and practical skills in independently analysing and assessing legal phenomena and processes in various branches of law.
