Course abstract

Course project for students to study the "Computer networks" strengthen the theoretical knowledge in the design of the computer network. The first part of the course project is part of the literature search, but the second part is the part of the network design. Course project during the development of the students the knowledge of structured cable systems design, the local computer network hardware design, authorities in the creation of a corporate computer networks and network server operating system selection.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge of structured, twisted-pair cable systems and fiber components, the local area network technologies and equipment, network protection methods and means, network servers and server operating systems;
• skills of computer network structured cable system design, the local area network hardware design, corporate computer network design, server network infrastructure design, preparation and presentation of studies of work to defend;
• competence in working in groups or independently, information acquiring, preparation and handling tools, presentation preparation and informative materials about computer network design, as well as in assuring others and proving your own opinion.
