The fundamentals of design hidraulic structures, norms of design. Dams. Gravity dams. Structural stability of gravity dams. Protection against scour. Spillways. Overflow spillways and outlet works crost gates: stop logs, vertical lift gates, radial ( Tainter) gates.
• The course develops knowledge and understanding about hidrotechnical ctructures, basic principles of construction projection. General information on hidrotechnical structures.
• The course enables students to make construction drawing, critical evaluates details, materials and calculations.
• Competence to evaluate affordable materials and constructions design hidrotechnical structures.
