Course abstract

Study course discusses the automatic control systems of production technological process and equipment, typical algorithms of automatic control and controllers, composition of mathematical models and simulation models of automatic control systems, adaptive and invariant control, optimal controller design, parameters setup criteria of industrial controllers, as well as modeling and optimization of technological process automatic control systems in MATLAB-SIMULINK environment.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge in the field of virtual modeling of technological equipment, analyses and design of technological process automatic control systems (ACS) and optimization of their transient process stability and operation quality, using SIMULINK.
• Skills to work with virtual modeling software MATLAB-SIMULINK, to compile algorithms and algorithmic block-diagrams for ACS simulation in static and dynamic modes, to interpret simulation results and to put them into practice.
• Competence in transient process virtual modeling methods of ACS and their components and handling in SIMULINK environment for scientific research, designing and engineering calculations.
