Course abstract

During the course project following are obtained: problems of transmission electricity in Latvia and in world; programs of energy developments; station and substation of electricity scheme, that principle of action; graphics of loads, that particularity. Students acquire design of electricity current top-line parts, that choice and verification; short-circuit calculation methods; reactive power compensation shapes; instrument transformers.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

The student will be studying at the rate:
• Knowledge about the electric transmission network structure, the conformation and the elements.
• Skills to calculate the electric transmission network of the required parameters (power transformer capacity, short circuit current, switched circuit breakers rated current).
• Competence to assess the situation of agricultural electricity supply substation and transmission network as well as the network elements of the technical condition.
