Course abstract

During the course of study the following are acquired: problem of transmission electricity in Latvia and in world; programs of energy developments; station and substation of electricity scheme, principle of thats action; graphics of loads, that particularity; suspend of electricity current top-line parts, choice and verification of them; short-circuit calculation methods; reactive power compensation shapes; measuring transformers.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

The student will be studying at the rate:
• Knowledge about the electric transmission network structure, the conformation and the elements.
• Skills to calculate the electric transmission network of the required parameters (power transformer capacity, short circuit current, switched circuit breakers rated current).
• Competence to assess the situation of agricultural electricity supply substation and transmission network as well as the network elements of the technical condition.
