The study course provides knowledge on the role of territorial development in the economy of several countries. Regional development is assessed in the context of sustainability, which is related to balanced development of economic, social, and environmental factors of territories. The study course is oriented towards searching for new ideas and new types of resources in territories.
Knowledge – master students obtain profound knowledge on the role of regional development in national economies of several countries, constructive knowledge in the contexts of regional theories, sustainable development, and territorial planning that provide an extended insight into interactions of factors affecting regional development. Skills – master students are able to independently analyse and assess sustainable territorial development and development prospects, taking into consideration theoretical principles and limited resources, and develop their competences and specialise within the context of regional development based on priorities of the national economy. They can take responsibility for their own and a group’s work results and the presentation of these results. Competence – master students can independently formulate and critically analyse theoretical and practical principles in sustainable territorial development, justify their own conclusions, and make proposals.
