Course abstract

The goal of research assignment is to gain knowledge and skills on the methodology of elaborating researches and papers (theses) based on an analysis of economic indicators for the economy, regions, an industry, or enterprises as well as to develop academic and professional competencies in writing, formatting, and presenting the results in compliance with the national and international standards.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge – master students gain profound knowledge on the methodology of elaborating a research, extended knowledge on writing, formatting, and presenting a publication, and an understanding of the related standards accepted in Latvia and in the international scientific world. Skills – master students can independently develop a methodology for their research, create an information basis based on the data acquisition methods chosen, and summarise, systemise, and analyse the information collected and justifiably develop theses, conclusions, and proposals based on the research methods exploited. Competence – master students can independently summarise and critically assess complicated problems on micro-, macro-, and global scales based on the analysis of economic indicators of economic regions, industries, or enterprises and justify their research methodology and research results.
