Course abstract

The course is provided for acquaintance with possibilities of Excel and its application in data processing, calculations in economics, data consolidation, selection (Advanced Filter), analysis (Pivot Table and Subtotals), and optimization (Table, Goal Seek).

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge – on data gathering and processing methods provided by MS Excel software – consolidation, pivot table, filtering and subtotals; application peculiarities, advantages and disadvantages. Skills – to apply MS Excel data processing methods for processing large tables and obtaining the results. Competences – ability to choose reasonably the most appropriate data processing method for solving a particular task and/or to modify data structure according to the requirements of data processing method to calculate the required results.
