Course abstract

The goal of studies course - to get basic knowledge about system of accounting in Latvia, accounting activity, principles and methods. The studies of accounting provide knowledge in organizing accounting. Anyone involved into entrepreneurship must know the basic principles of accounting, the objects to be accounted, the content of an annual accounting statement, the methods for estimating property and keeping records in accounting in double entry system.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge – about the history of accounting and the newest tendencies. Understanding of internal audit methodology and accounting. Skills – ability to apply methods of accounting in enterprises. To define the internal control contemporary forms and be able to apply those forms. Ability to complain with accounting professional practice standards and determine its priorities. Competence – independently formulate necessarily of accounting implementation in enterprise, on the basis of internal control’s role and contemporary understanding of organisation.
