Course abstract

This course introduces with economic thought from antiquity to nowadays. It deals with various traditions, ideas and priorities, explain the art of hausehold management, guide to systematic scientific principles in economic theory. It reflects a competition among different paradigms, widening research area to state and global scale. Students acquire ability for further research.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge: on the history and modern schools of economics. The course shapes an understanding of the sources and research methods of economic thought since ancient times until nowadays. Skills: students can assess differences in economic situations at various periods of history and identify problems, contradictions, development trends, and the main impacting factors. Competencies: students gain knowledge and skills regarding the role of economic thought in the life of society and in determining directions of development. The course shapes an understanding of the main factors and certain solutions regarding how to use available resources in a more efficient way for achieving goals of society.
