The Study course introduces students to the calculation methods, applicable to calculations of structures bearing capacity. The responses of structure- internal forces and displacements, induced by actions, are analysed, and the appropriate dimensions and join types for structural elements are designed, to satisfy the requirements of stiffness and strenth.
After completing the course student will have:
• Knowledge: on Mechanics and Physics Principles, applied to design of structures; on structures mechanical properties determinating main parameters dimensions and limit values
• Skills: to choose the calculation model according to actual, real structure; to formulate the design task, as well as to verify the results by means of alternate model calculations.
• Competence: ability to reasonable substantiate the calculation model choice and results credibility on the basis of the knowledge gained.
