The study continues for acquiring of knowledge on behaviour of structures and their elements under loads. Statically determinated and stable bar systems (trusses) and three hinged frames. Analytical and graphical methods for determination of internal forces. Design of steel and timber elements, loaded axially and eccentrically, in accordance with strength and stability conditions. Active and passive forces of ground. Analysis of stability conditions for solid retaining walls.
• Basic knowledge for: 1) composition of stable truss and/or frame system consisting of bar and beam type elements, 2) method of section, static equilibrium of external and internal forces and determination the ones, 3) determination of stresses in sections of axially and eccentrically loaded elements, 4) concept on static equilibrium of retaining wall, Expression of active pressure of ground.
• Skills: 1) determination of internal forces analytically and graphically, 2) design of force diagrams for statically determinated systems, 3) dimensioning of sections for steel and timber elements.
• Competence: ability to assess heavy loaded elements and sections in system, also to justify the prognosis for stability of solid retaining wall.
