Course abstract

Study course provide knowledge of recent conception of the shape and size of the Earth. The description of the Earth’s surface on plans and maps. Scales.Coordinate systems. The orientation of lines in the area. The basic knowledge of the measuring errors theory. The angular measurements. Measuring of distances. Leveling. Geodetic networks.Ttopographical surveying. The marking of building projects in the area. Cartography and its goals.Characteristics and structure of maps.Processing of information and cartographical interpretation. Surveying of the river, the active cross-section determination.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• knowledge and critical understanding of the geodesy industries nature and content, the opportunities of the use of surveying and use of the acquired results;
• skills independently carry out the evaluation of the task conditions, used solution methods application for various types of surveying tasks;
• competence in collaboration with supervisor of study course to manage processing and evaluation of achieved results.
