Course abstract

The diploma project is the result of all the study programs. The task for the students is to establish in diploma projects landscape modelling, reconstruction, restoration or regeneration projects in a definite area in Latvia and in of other countries. The diploma project consists of the history and landscape study of the area, general plan of the project, greenery plan, detail specification and cross-section drawings, elevation drawings and other details, that many-sided presents the idea and solutions of the project.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Outcome:
• strengthen knowledge about study of landscape architecture problems in landscape architecture and establishment of projects for different outdoor areas,
• skills to work with the basic material and site field research, skills to establish functional, compositional projects with a high visual quality, motivate and defend them,
• ability, that are necessary for professional activity of landscape architects – solve any question connected to the functional and visually qualitative establishment or change of the public or private outdoor space.
