Course abstract

During the study course there will be discussed ways how to evaluate regional competitiveness and its factors, how to define advantages of region or obstacles of economical development and rise of competitiveness. There will be done analysis of existing recourses within the region. Regional competitiveness will be evaluated also as significant component of social and economical cohesion in EU. There will be discussed possibilities of improvement of regional image of Latvia and there will prioritize direction of development and defined competitiveness factors and regional identity in Baltic. In study course are included topics about climate changes in rural areas.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

After completion of study course students will have:
• knowledge about development and implementation of regional marketing strategies for regional municipalities,
• skills to develop regional plans,
• competence to work independently as territorial planners in local municipalities.

16 Landscape analysis by photography, art work, literal work. The energy landscape.
