Course abstract

The aim of the study course is to offer information about history and typology of public building green infrastructure, and to explain common issues in landscape architecture planning task for green infrastructure of public building, territorial zoning, function and composition for development of appropriate plan. Process of study course includes lectures and individually developed project for the green infrastructure of public building.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Students will get:
• knowledge about history of public building green infrastructure, about types of public building and requirements for planning green infrastructure, about zoning schemes, research and analysing of space structure;
• skills to justify choose of compositional method, collect basic needed data for designing and do the fortification, develop planning variations for green infrastructure;
• competence to analyse different situations of public buildings and to plan green infrastructure for different public buildings, in accordance with the function and composition.

1 Residential house greenery history and typology. Wet area formation in influence of climate change.
2 Individual residential house garden. Summerhouses and allotment greenery.
3 Management of wetland sites in public outdoor space - sustainable storm water collection, the creation of wetlands.
4 Farm landscape formation.
5 Analysis of the current situation, photo fixation, motion analysis.
6 Private houses greenery space analysis and design of spatiality.
7 Access area planning, sketches, options.
8 Living area planning landscape garden, sketches, variations.
9 Children playground space layout and design, sketches, variations.
10 Service area planning.
11 Terraces, rest areas and fields in private house garden.
12 Architecture small forms in private house garden. Place of dog in garden.
13 Ornamental plant composition, grouping, bed design.
14 Sketch option discussion.
15 Formation of private house project.
16 Private house garden projects show and discussion.
