Course abstract

The course is designed for acquiring the basic skills for use of program Google Sketchup. Understanding the Sketcup interface, modifying the parameters of environment. Using coordinate systems. Creating drawing objects. Using the osnap options. Editing methods: selection of objects, editing commands, object properties toolbar. Dimensioning the drawing. Components. Layers. Working in three-dimensional space. Use of Rendering tools.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge on regularities of geometry needed for effective work in program, understanding of three main categories of the program: setting variables, commands, regimes.
• Skills: good for design of drawings in plane and basics in 3D modelling.
• Competence for effective choice of program tools in order to achieve the result expected – models of correct geometry and impressive design.
