Course abstract

In study course by acquiring the fundamental skills of 2D drafting and 3D modelling students will facilitate landscape architects’ ability to speculate, develop, produce, and communicate in working out their spatial ideas with clarity and precision. Study course includes an introduction to CAD and SketchUp techniques that increases traditional drafting skills. Students will learn how to create landscape architectural drawings; use layers, line types and colour to display drawings for plotting; use commands to draw and edit objects; and develop a symbol library.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge about CAD and SketchUp basic tools, work principles and possibilities; use of different materials for development of project ideas; modification and use of CAD and SketchUp interface.
• Practical skills to edit materials, to work out precise and detailed, and also readable graphical display of landscape architecture project.
• Competence to establish two and three dimensional objects, drawings, to read information from surveyor, territorial planer, architect and other specialists developed material in CAD environment, recognising special legends and layers of specific sphere
