Course abstract

Students develop spatial thinking in the study course. Students acquire basic knowledge of landscape drawing, techniques of reproducing space effect in landscape, conditions of perspective construction modifying positions of the observer against height of horizont line, light and shade constructions principles varying with position of the light source and light type. The aim of the course is to learn to reproduce landscape project ideas in sketches and drawings, to improve graphic techniques of landscape drawing develop individual drawing style.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge about the drawing theory, landscape reproduction in drawings, achievement of the effects of perspective in drawings
• Skills to draw landscape elements using perspective effect, contrasts of light and shade
• Competence to use theoretical knowledge and practical drawing skills in analyses of other authors work
