The aim of the subject is to give knowledge about the Baroque and Classicism development periods and styles of architecture and garden art, including the most notable objects of Europe, Russia, and Latvia. A special attention is drawn to the Baroque gardens in Europe, Russia and Latvia and as well as to English park formation, the influence of them on to the park history in Europe, Russia, Latvia and other countries. The subject of the study process consists of lectures and independently prepared reports in workshops.
The outcome of the study course:
• knowledge about the Baroque and Classicism periods, development and structure of their architecture and garden art objects development and structure, the most notable examples are as follows, landscape architects and gardeners,
• skills to recognize architecture and garden art styles of the garden art, compositional structure of them, components,
• ability to characterize, evaluate and use compositional methods in accordance with further project design.
