Course abstract

The course is designed to master the basic principles of designing a sewn product: familiarize yourself with constructive modeling, the use of commercial cuts and application to individual products; with types of design, computer software; sewing technology, organization of the production process of the product (sequence), types of product assembly units, artistic decoration of sewn products - design. Practically, students make stitched products.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge - understanding of the terminology and stages of the design of a stitched product, the design and constructive modeling, the types of computer programs for design and modeling. Understanding sewing terminology, sewing tools, sewing materials and their quantification, cutting, seam processing elements, organization of product manufacturing process (sequence), types of product assemblies, artistic finishing, design types of presentations - presentations , work cards
Skills - Is able to critically evaluate, recognize and choose the type of design and constructive modeling of a stitched product. Can work with commercial cutter and customize for individual sewing product. Is able to critically evaluate, recognize and select textile materials, work tools, suture processing elements, product assemblies and sewing technology according to model design and practically produce sewed products - laboratories and independent works
Competencies - are able to use constructive modeling and sewing technology in the design of sewed products safely and creatively. Able to exhibit stitched articles in the work view. Able to work with information sources for further education in the production of sewn products - laboratories and independent works, practically made sewn articles

1. Stages of sewing product design. (lecture)
2. Sewing equipment and accessories: types, operation, care. (lecture, laboratory work) - 4 h
3. Design and constructive modeling. (lecture, laboratory works) - 10 h
4. Design, modeling computer programs. (lecture)
5. Commercial Cut-Offs and their Adaptation to Individual Sewing Products (Lecture, Laboratory Work) - 4 h
6. Terminology of sewing technology. Organization of the process of making a sewn article. (lecture)
7. Sewing materials and their quantification. Cutting. (lecture, laboratory work) - 4 h
8. Elements of Seamstress Processing: Handmade, Machining, Hydrothermal Treatment (Lecture, Laboratory Work) - 5 h
9. Types of skirts, design and manufacturing technology (lecture, laboratory work) - 5 h
10. Types of trousers, design and manufacturing technology (lecture, laboratory work) - 5 h
11. Types of T-clothing, design and manufacturing technology (lecture, laboratory work) - 5 h
12. Types of clothing, design and production technology (lecture, laboratory work) - 15 h
13. Design of a sewn article project - 20 h

Part time extramural studies:

All topics specified for full time studies are accomplished, but the number of contact hours is one half of the number specified in the calendar
