Course abstract

Organizational behaviour is an interdisciplinary field of science that draws attention to behavioural processes in organizations. The aim of the study course is to provide master students with theoretical knowledge and skills to apply individual and group behavior research methods that affect the effectiveness of the organization, to provide in-depth knowledge of behavior in organizations and its development trends and regularities, as well as develop individual and group behavior skills to study and analyze behavior in organizations. The course contains a variety of scientific concepts and behaviour patterns, provides knowledge of behaviour relationships within organizations and partner relationship processes within the organization, the specificity of team work and the possibility to use them in practice.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge. Knows and understands the specifics of behaviour in organizations; knowledge and understanding of individual and group behaviour in organizations (test, exam).
Skills. Ability to apply different group research methods (practical task); ability to analyse the facts of behaviour in organizations (creative work); ability to perform information analysis (creative work); ability to discuss the behaviour of individuals in the organization (creative work); ability to make a decision in group work (practical task).
Competencies. Ability to determine the roles of an individual in a group (individual task); ability to research behavioural problems in organizations and evaluate the results (individual practical task).

Requirements for awarding credit points

At the end of the study course master students must pass a written exam. The final assessment is cumulative and is comprised of grades for a test (20%), practical task (10%), individual task (5%), individual practical task (5%), creative work (20%), written exam (40%). 10% corresponds to the one point on the 10-point assessment scale. The test can be written only at the specified time. The basic requirements are determined in the first class of the study course: participation in seminars, completion of practical and individual tasks, successful evaluation of the creative work - scientific article and its presentation.

Study process in part-time distance learning is organised in accordance with the Order of the Vice-Rector of Studies No. 2.4.-5/59 On distance learning procedures at LBTU. Study courses are scheduled for each semester according to the study plan. The students learn the topics included in the study course independently, using the materials created and placed by the lecturer in the e-studies (Moodle). Feedback on the learning of lecture and seminar topics in distance learning is organised in the form of self-assessment tests, discussion forums and independent work, as well as in face-to-face or online consultations, lectures and final examinations according to the timetable.

Literature studies required for practical and individual tasks, elaboration of creative work, and for successful completion of the test and the final exam.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The final assessment of the study course consists of duly completed test (20%), practical task (10%), individual task (5%), individual practical task (5%), creative work (20%) and written exam (40%).
