Course abstract

The study course provides a comprehensive theoretical knowledge and understanding of social policy as well as the factors affecting it. Students are introduced with a normative regulation of social policy and with a basic principles of its institutional action. The study course includes an analysis of various social policy areas, for example social protection in case of unemployment, old age and disability. In frame of the study course students will be introduced with a various activities to decrease the social risk, for example, support for housing, health care and education.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge on social policy and its implementation mechanism, including both - national and local support provided to decrease of various social risks.
• Skills to select bibliography sources, and use them to study our country's social policy. Skills to analyse an activities of social policy in accordance with the needs of social groups. Skills to analyze a normative acts of social politicy.
• Competence to act independently in various spheres of social policy. Able to use the theoretical knowledge in practice: to solve cases of violations of social rights.
