Course abstract
Study course introduces with technique of handicrafts, from beads history and possible materials till variety of beaded accessories. Different beading techniques are acquired practically. The subject gives wide practical skills in untraditional possibilities of working, its creative integration into the modern settings, school programs and hobby groups to motivate value of self made things
Learning outcomes and their assessment
After completing the course student will have:
•knowledge: understanding about beading as a new handicraft techniques for nowadays, its link and integration with current handicraft techniques in school program; opportunities of textile synthesis; beading as art value in Latvia and in the context of Europe and instrument to develop creative and competitive personality;
•skills can orient in beading techniques and can use it in decoration of closest environment in creative way; always look for new techniques and methods to develop own handicraft skills; can use gain competence in information technologies to acquire new techniques and use it efficiently;
•competences: able to use in creative way separate and to synthesize together several different techniques of beading as well to look for new solutions to improve current knowledge; able to orient in a big amount of information and to find necessary; to use knowledge, skills and methodical materials in educational act without assistance.
