The aim of the study work and development of projects for the creation of a finishing section for furniture or other wooden products. Each student is issued an individual study assignment.
Knowledge of wood finishing technological project development.
Skills of various different products finishing technological schemes.
Competence to create and manage the work of the finishing station.
(Knowledge and skills are based on the written part of the assessment study work, but the essential reflection of the competence is the defense of the students' study work and answering questions)
1 Choice of topic, justification and product description. Introduction to technical design. (6h)
2 Description of the planned / existing company, analysis of current and potential technical possibilities, for finishing the product. (5h)
3 Selection and justification of finishing materials. (6h)
4 Determination of finishing surface areas, calculation of finishing material consumption. (5h)
5 Requirements and required quality for the selected product and type of finish. (3 h)
6 Choice and justification of the finishing method. (7 h)
7 Selection and justification of finishing equipment. (7 h)
8 Development of finishing application mode and development of work instructions. (6h)
9 Organization of finishing drying and justification of choice. (6h)
10 Development of the finishing drying mode. (4 hours)
11 Equipment layout planning, graphic part creation. (11h)
12 Work safety, fire protection, environmental protection requirements and implementation possibilities of the developed plant. (4 h)
13 Economic evaluation of the developed technology. (4 h)
14 Presentation of the course paper, submission of a printed version, defense. (6h)
Must submit the study work within the deadline, completed in accordance with the receipt of individual assignments. The study paper should be successfully defended orally, reflecting the content of the study paper and the answers to the questions.
Each student receives the type of product on which all calculations and workshop planning are based. A product chosen by the student is allowed, but it must be agreed with the lecturer when starting the study work. Student, organization of study works independently, using available resources, but consultations used by lecturers and solving unclear issues.
Evaluates the characteristics of the written part, compliance with finishing issues and the ability to solve finishing issues. The second most important aspect of assessment is the ability and competence to answer the questions provided by lecturers and course members.
