In order to design quality design objects, designer has to be familiar not only with materials and technological solutions used, but also the history of design, ergonomics and anthropometry , principles of design, value of design and specifics of manufacturing process. Within this course, students are presented with an insight in the aforementioned subjects.
Knowledge
Recognize, explain and understand the significance of design movements, ergonomics and anthropometry, value of design and design process.
Assessment: test.
Skills
To judge design objects from the perspective of manufacturer and designer, being able to design objects and their manufacturing processes.
Assessment: test and practical assignments.
Competence
In coordance with with real life constraints, being able to individually design and prepare for manufacturing different products. Acting as a designer.

Within that 30 hours are allocated for doing assignments from seminars and practical assignments.
Literature studies – 18 hours.
Test No. 1
Students are presented with sketches of a design example, student is expected to identify the movement of industrial design features, determine the general dimensions, based on anthropometric constraints and identify furniture type based on
Test No. 2
Students randomly select different products, based on that, a sketch project, involving the steps of design evolution is made.
