The study course looks at the design of forest machines and the principles of operating the main mechanisms. The knowledge acquired makes it possible to understand the principles of force and capacity transfer in mechanisms and to calculate their characteristics.
After the course, the student will have:
• knowledge of the design and operational principles of machinery for logging,(test)
• skills to carry out visual and technical assessments of forestry techniques, aggregating capabilities,(laboratory work)
• competence - provide responsible advice to forest workers on the feasibility of logging machines in the specific development of felling areas.(test)
1 Introduction. Breakdown of forest machinery for mechanisation of forestry works. (lectures 2 h; laboratory works 2 h)
2 Forest machine characteristics, stability circuits..(lectures 2 h; laboratory works 2 h)
3 Internal combustion engines. (lectures 2 h; laboratory works 2 h)
4 Engine machines and systems. (lectures 2 h; laboratory works 2 h)
5 Transmission.. (lectures 2 h; laboratory works 2 h)
6 Rolling part, tires, tracks. (lectures 2 h; laboratory works 2 h)
7 Assembly systems. Hydromanipulators (lectures 2 h; laboratory works 2 h)

15 Forest machine software. (lectures 2 h; laboratory works 2 h)
16 Introducing a job to the harvester system. (lectures 2 h; laboratory works 2 h)
All quizzes, passed and successfully defended laboratory works, and tests in e-study environments have to be successfully completed in order to obtain a refund, and a presentation on the work itself has been successfully defended.
Independent preparation for the control of knowledge by studying special literature and using the learning resources available in the e-study environment within the study course.
Test 1: Basic and operation of the construction of logging machines.
Test 2: Operation of the engine and force transmission of logging machines.
Test 3: Activities of electronic and hydraulic systems for logging machines.
Test 4: Metering equipment and construction and operations of logging machines.
Test 5: Information system for logging machines.
Test 6 in the e-study environment: Equipment for logging machines.
Presentation of own-initiative work.
All the works of the laboratory, the quizzes written, and the checks must be defended. If all quizzes are written with a score of 7 balls and more, students can get the accumulating crediting rating as the average of the quiz ratings.
Evaluation of works in accordance with point 4.1 of the Statute for Studies
