Course abstract

The aim of the study course is to get acquainted with production technologies, to assess inaccuracies caused by processing, size distribution and to analyze the causes. Students get acquainted with the methods of ensuring the accuracy of machining, the methodology of calculation of size chains and allowances, the design of technological processes of manufacturing parts and economic evaluation. Students learn the specifics of the use of CNC machines, machine assembly and testing technologies, as well as get acquainted with the development trends of mechanical engineering.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge: basics of mechanical engineering technology, machining program CNC Simulator. Assessment - 4 tests.
Skills: to develop a part base scheme and machining technological route, to select a workpiece and to develop a technological map of its machining, to create programs for machining parts with CNC control machines. Assessment - 2 practical works and 3 laboratory works.
Competences: understanding of the choice of workpiece parameters and their processing technology, the ability to develop technologies for the production of parts, as well as assembly of mechanisms and machines. Assessment - 2 practical works.
