Course abstract

Composition and Colour Studies-I includes means of graphic expression, types and basic principles of composition, proportions, various techniques/techniques diverse representation/application of surface materiality in a plane, volume and spatial environment, according to the design idea and work tasks. Visualize and creatively realize in practical work the development of graphic design, product design ideas, themes, collections, series design solutions in practical materiality - functional, material technical, aesthetic, reusable, ergonomic, ecological, environmental sustainability design solutions.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge - theoretically knows, understands the concepts, types and basic principles of composition, their meaning and application: in graphic design works/area compositions; mutual relationships of compositional, conceptual, visual solutions - theory test.
Skills - know how to work creatively and independently in graphic, linear, black and white, colour variations and forms of expression in plane and volume (sketches, worksheets, labels, packaging designs and layouts, visual identity, tablets, design objects and elements, etc.) - practical works.
Competence - independently applies compositional knowledge and skills in practical, creative work, develops compositional, conceptual, visual solutions - object design samples in plane and volume, according to the design idea and work tasks. Practically applies the principles of design thinking in the application of prototypes, possible reproduction/used/renewable resources/materials: able to think and act creatively, independently compositionally; analyze and evaluate the technical, aesthetic, functional quality of the work; to reason reasonedly, to evaluate one's own work and that of others, to listen, to respect other's opinion as well; able to apply IT knowledge and skills in the development of compositions/presentations - independent homework.
The assessment includes - the developed compositional, conceptual, visual solutions - sketches, worksheets, tablets, subject design samples, etc. works in plane and volume, according to the design idea and work tasks. Visualized and creative practical works - the development of realized graphic design, product design ideas, themes, collections, series design solutions in practical materiality - functional, material technical, aesthetic, reused, ergonomic, ecological, natural/environmental sustainability design solutions.
