Course abstract

Students are introduced with the main tasks of the land reclamation supervisor and are provided with examples based on practical experience in the management of land reclamation projects.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

1. Be able to perform the duties of an land reclamation works supervisor in conformity with the regulatory enactments of the Republic of Latvia and the legal norms of the European Union in the field of land reclamation construction (practical work, examination).
2. Be able to perform operational management of land reclamation works (practical work, examination).
3. Be able to coordinate the work of land reclamation construction participants (practical work, examination).
4. Capable of planning the sale of an land reclamation construction object in conformity with the construction project (practical work, examination).
5. Are able to assess and analyse the economic factors of the construction of an land reclamation site (practical work, examination).
6. Capable of evaluating the documentation of the land reclamation project (practical work, examination).
7. Be able to design the organisation of land reclamation works, plan and manage works (practical work, examination).
8. Capable of organising the permanent provision of an land reclamation construction object (practical work, examination).
9. Be able to cooperate with the co-operation partners for the disposal of the land reclamation construction site (practical work).
10. Is able to control the payment of the executed land reclamation works (practical work).
11. Are able to ensure and control compliance with environmental protection, fire safety and labour protection rules (practical work, examination).
12. Capable of training employees (practical work).
13. Capable of organising training (practical work).
14. Capable of using calculation methods and special computer programs (practical work).

15. Ability to communicate in the official language and at least two foreign languages (practical work).

Course Content(Calendar)

1. Operational management of works (4 hours)
2. Provision of a construction facility with labour resources, assembly of performers (4 hours)
3. Coordination of workers in construction (4 hours)
4. Planning of the sale of a construction object (4 hours)
5. Analyzing economic factors (4 hours)
6. Selecting suppliers (2 hours)
7. Optimize project documentation (2 hours)
8. Organisation of permanent collateral of a construction facility (4 hours)
9. Selection of partners for the realisation of a construction facility (2 hours)

10. Planning and controlling payments (2 hours)

Requirements for awarding credit points

For the purposes of obtaining credits, a written examination on 20 theoretical course issues shall be completed. The admission to the examination shall be obtained by the student following the practical work of developed and defended land reclamation works management.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

1. In general. The assessment of the study course examination depends on the sum of the resulting points during the semester, participation in practical works (20 points), development of practical work in the management of land reclamation works (40 points) and examination (40 points). Together, you can get a maximum of 100 points, corresponding to 10 balls.
2. Co-rating conditions:
A. 3 balls if less than 50% of the maximum score is obtained during the semester;
B. 4 balls if 50... 54 points;
C. 5 balls if 55... 60 points;
D. 6 balls if you get 60... 69 points;
E. 7 balls if 70... 79 points;
F. 8 balls if there are 80... 89 points;
G. 9 balls if you get 90... 95 points;

H. 10 balls if 95... 100 points.
