Course abstract

The aim of the study course is to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge on electrical equipment installation and repair methods. Basic information provided on principles, conditions of installation and repair, designation of elements in schemes and in nature. Course deals with assembly and repair techniques of overhead lines, cables, transformer substations, earthing and overvoltage protection equipment, indoor electrical wiring, electric motors and other devices; with pre-repair diagnosis, post-repair tests and development of technological flow charts for electric equipment repair and installation.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge - technical parameters of electrical equipment, external electrical networks and components of internal electrical installations of buildings, principles and conditions of installation and repair of electrical equipment – test;
Skills - to create the electrical wiring of electrical equipment, internal and external electrical network installations and buildings, to choose suitable tools and methods for the installation and repair of electrical equipment – test;

Competence - to choose appropriate electrical equipment elements and standard circuit diagrams; to ensure the creation of technological maps for the repair and installation of electrical equipment – test.

Part time extramural studies:

All topics specified for full time studies are accomplished, but the number of contact hours is one half of the number specified in the calendar

Requirements for awarding credit points

Test. The test consists of:
One question of the theoretical part;
Task on the topics acquired in the study course;

A student is admitted to taking the test only if both tests have been passed.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Students independently prepare for tests and prepare reports for laboratory work.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

Assessment of study results takes place based on the student's answers during the test. It is also possible to get a maximum grade of 10 (excellent), if the student has had a good visit, all work has been done on time, as well as the student has shown appropriate knowledge.
