Course abstract

The aim of the study course is to learn operation of cogeneration plant for heat and electricity generation as well as design principles are being acquired during studies. Fuelwood and fuel gas production, as well as biomass resources, biogas and biofuels production, including costs, tariffs and economic efficiency are being studied as well.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge - types of alternative energy - biomass energy and its various forms - theoretical and practical aspects – exam;
Skills - to create and select biomass energy sources for energy supply of objects, to coordinate the strategy of use of various resources – exam;

Competence - to ensure the proper operation of biomass energy utilization equipment, to assess the mutual compatibility and interaction of different energy resources – exam.
