Course abstract

Students shall acquire knowledge of the structure, legal framework and organisation of the labour protection, fire safety and civil protection system, risk assessment, planning of civil protection measures, objects of increased danger and classification of dangerous substances. In practical terms, the skills of first aid and call for assistance and the use of personal protective equipment shall be acquired.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

1. Knowledge and critical understanding of the structure of the labour protection, fire safety and civil protection system (test);
2. Skills to assess risk risks, establish a civil protection system in an undertaking, institution or local government, providing first aid and skills in the operation of a fire apparatus (skills);
3. Organise events in exceptional situations within the scope of their competence (practical works).

Course Content(Calendar)

1. Development of the labour protection system. (Lecture – 1h; Practical work – 1h)
2. Work environment assessment methods, their application (Lecture – 1h; Practical work – 1h)
3. Fire safety, regulatory enactments regulating it. Electrical safety. (Lecture – 1h; Practical work – 1h)
4. Structure, legal framework, organisation and management of the civil protection system. (Lecture – 1h; Seminars – 1h)
5. Tasks, rights and obligations of State, local government, legal and natural persons in the field of civil protection. (Lecture – 1h; Practical work – 1h)
6. Objects of increased danger, duties and rights of its owner or lawful possessor. Dangerous substances, their classification and their storage and transport requirements. (Lecture – 1h; Practical work – 1h)

8. First aid skills in life-critical situations, call for help. Personal protective equipment in the event of a disaster (Lecture – 1h; Practical work – 1h)

Requirements for awarding credit points

The accumulating assessment shall be received by students who have worked the practice, participated in the workshop sessions and obtained an assessment of not less than 5.0 parties. An assessment shall also be obtained in the form of a test, which shall demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of regulatory enactments. Final assessment — arithmetic mean of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The form of learning evaluation - for all full and part-time basic higher education education programmes - shall be assessment

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

At least 50% of test questions must be answered correctly in order for the student to obtain the clearing and practical works worked.
