Course abstract

Veterinary dentistry inspect different pathology of the oral cavity, where base is exchange of the oral cavity, it,s treatment and profilaksis. Inspect Anotomikal and physiologikal peculiarity of the oral cavity and of the head locality a different animals, as also frequently diverges from quota. Pathologi of tooth, jaw and soft tisue of oral cavity. Influence of such pathological on the animals healthy . Traum of jaw and locality of head. Inspected new principle of diagnostik, treatment and profilactik.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge: Knowledge of dentistry disease diagnosis, differential diagnosis and treatment options – 1 test.
Skills: It will describe practical skills associated with dentistry manipulation out - practicals.

Competency: There will be competent about preventive measures to prevent dental complications and disease development - KEGA work.

1. Introduction, anatomy, development. - 1 h lectures and 1 h practical works.
2. Oral examination. - 1 h lectures and 1 h practical works.
3. Oral cavity soft tissue abnormalities. - 1 h lectures and 1 h practical works.
4. Dental abnormalities. Tooth extraction. - 1 h lectures and 1 h practical works.
5. Periodontitis. - 1 h lectures and 1 h practical works.
6. Oral cavity hard tissue surgery. - 1 h lectures and 1 h practical works.
7. Neoplasms in the oral cavity. - 1 h lectures and 1 h practical works.
8. Orthodontics. Dental Restoration. - 1 h lectures and 1 h practical works.
9. Horse and herbivores dental pathology. - 1 h lectures and 1 h practical works.
10. Rodent dental pathologies. - 1 h lectures and 1 h practical works.

Requirements for awarding credit points

Theoretical and practical examination of the lecture course in practical works. At the end of the theoretical and practical course the student conducts the final test.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Students independently carry out animal testing, diagnosis and differential diagnosis, various dental manipulations for different animal species.
Clinical and Epidemiological Case Studies (KEGA) Work: Development of the Theoretical Case Study (KEGA), using the topics offered by the lecturers or the theme chosen by the student, in agreement with the subject's manager. At least five literature sources should be used in the work and presented at the end of the course. The design of KEGA work should be done in accordance with the standards adopted by the VMF Teaching Methodology Commission.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

At the end of the Veterinary Dentistry course, the student must present the developed KEGA work and complete the final test without notes.
