Course abstract

During the study course, students are introduced to the specifics of organizational culture, its influencing factors, its development process and management. There has been learned the principles of analyzing and creating the internal environment of the organization in accordance with the needs of customers, analyzed the visible and invisible part of organizational culture, organizational values, methods of cultural research and evaluation.
The aim of the study course is to form an understanding of the specifics of organizational culture, its influencing factors, development process and management.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge
1. Knowledge of the specifics of organizational culture, its influencing factors, its development process and management.- Discussions in seminars, independent work.
2. Knowledge and understanding the methods and tools of research and evaluation of organizational culture. - Test.
Professional skills
1. Ability to assess the internal environment of the organization according to the needs of customers and employees.- Discussions in seminars, individual task.
2. Ability to understand the methods of research and evaluation of organizational culture, is able to apply them to the evaluation of specific organizational culture.- Discussions in seminars, individual task.

1. Ability to responsibly plan assigned tasks.- Individual task.

Course Content(Calendar)

1. The concept and typology of the organization. Understanding the essence of the organization. (2 hours)
2. The concept and types of organizational culture. Functions of organizational culture. (2 hours)
3. Methods and tools for research and evaluation of organizational culture. (4hours)
4. External environmental factors influencing the culture of the organization. (2 hours)
5. Image and reputation of the organization. Reputation tops. Presentations of independent work. (4hours)
6. Visible part of the organization's culture. (4hours)
7. Invisible part of organizational culture. Mission, vision, value orientation. (4hours)
8. Organizational ethics and code of ethics. (3hours)
9. Specifics of organizational culture management. (3hours)
10. Development of organizational culture and the process of change. (1 hour)
11. Information culture. (1st hour)
12. Origin and development of organizational culture theory. (1 hour)
Test: Organizational culture: essence, diagnostics, measurement, visible and invisible part. (1 hour).

Requirements for awarding credit points

Accumulative test with a mark at the end of the course. Must have successfully written test and defended independent work.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Independent work: The image of the organization and the reputation of the organization. (Presentation).

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

At the end of the study course an accumulative test with a mark. The evaluation consists of the sum of the test (50%), independent work (30%) and activity in seminars (20%).
