Course abstract

Students acquire general design rules of building plans, interior object's, orthogonal and axonometrical projections, computer-aided methods for 2D drawings and 3D models for interior product designing.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge - students know AutoCAD program applications, tools and capabilities of computer-aided designs for different products
The level of knowledge shall be determined by assessing the theoretical justification of the solution to graphical works.
• Skills – students are able to draw different components or combinations of stylized or geometric elements, to form views and cuts and to design drawings in accordance with the ISO requirements. Students are able to create a 3D model for an imaginary component or model.
The level of skills shall be determined by assessing the quality of the performance of graphical works.
• Competence – students are able to use the acquired professional knowledge and skills in practical work and study to design and construct different subjects and artistically projections of environment.
The level of competence shall be determined by evaluating 2 test works.

Course Content(Calendar)

. Making simple sections in the ortogonal projections. Display dimensions in detail sectional views. Building quarter-sections in the isometric view (4h).
2. Using scale in building plans. Design of the building plan. Display the dimensions in the building's plans (4h).
3. 1. Test work (2h).
4. 3D modeling, Ortogonal projection drawings and assambleys of different interior objects (12h).
5. Modeling and visualization a 3d building model (4h).
6. The design, visualization and animation of the 3D stairs(4h)
7. 2. Test work (2h).

Requirements for awarding credit points

Development and theoretical justification of 8 graphical tasks and passed 2 test works and final test work.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

The graphical tasks in the practical work must be complete independently, in accordance with the conditions specified in the practical work. Theoretical justification of the solution to graphical task takes place after its completion, during practical work.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

• The level of knowledge shall be determined by:
knowledge of terms, definitons interpretation, knowledge of techniques, comprehension of regularities.
• The level of skills shall be determined by:
graphical basic skills, skill to operate with knowledge, skill to analyze and predict, skill of creative activity.
• The level of competence shall be determined by:
Non-assisted quiz development using only the tools needed to perform graphic work.
The level of knowledge, skills and competence is determined using summative assessment.
