Course abstract

Feed energy and nutrients (protein, carbohydrate etc.) evaluation systems used as integrated evaluation systems for feedstuffs. Feedstuffs digestibility as a criterion of nutrition value, factors influencing digestibly. Digestibility determination methods "in vivo" and "in vitro".

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Students will gain an in-depth knowledge of feed energy and nutrient evaluation systems. Successfully take part in workshops. To study skills for feedstuffs evaluation according by various criteria and obtain skills for choose the best evaluation system in different animal nutrition. Successfully did practical works. Students will be competent to explain and justify feeds for different evaluation systems. Successfully passed exam.

Requirements for awarding credit points

Successfully did practical works and seminars, passed exam.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

The student independently studies popular and scientific literature about topics of seminars.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

Student can get a successful mark on the exam if at least 50% of the questions are answered correctly. The practical work performed is evaluated according to the evaluation procedure specified in the practical task. Without the successful completion of practical works and seminars, student cannot take the exam.
