Course abstract

The aim of the study course is to acquire the principles and methods of calculation of thermal and hydraulic parameters of heating systems and their elements. In the course work the analysis of information available in the literature about building heating systems and their components, calculation of hydraulic resistance of pipelines and their dimensioning, calculation of room and building heat loss, as well as calculation of required parameters of radiators and their selection.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge - methods for calculating the water heating system and its individual elements in hydraulic and thermal engineering — course work;
Skills - calculating and selecting the parameters of the building water heating system and its elements - course work;

Competence - selection of the building heating system and its elements, selection of the heating system operating modes and parameters and its calculation - course work.
