Course abstract
The aim of the course is to provide theoretical knowledge and develops practical skills of the students. The human body is designed to be physical active. The theoretical knowledge deals with the physiological impact of physical exercises on the bodys familiarises students with competition rules and principles of their proper organization. The practical classes strengthen the student skills and facilitate development of their physical condition and health of students, the programme offers opportunities to go for different kinds of sport in accordance with the capabilities and interests of the students.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Knowledge - complements theoretical and practical understanding about performed movement and needed comprehensive muscle development, lecture.
Skills - learns various movements, which contributes to development of co-ordination and increase of movement experience, practical classes. Understands abilities of own movement and its shortcomings, practical classes.
Competence - acquires understanding about the importance of physical activity for improving and strengthening health, practical classes.
Course Content(Calendar)
Full time intramural studies:
1. Introductory lecture – the study subject, its tasks and goals. The need for comprehensive movements and muscle development, lecture, 2h.
2. Functional fitness testing – practical classes , 2 h.
3. Learning and developing practical skills and proficiency in a selected sport – practical classes, 24 h.
4. Testing of practical skills and proficiency in a selected sport – practical classes, 4 h.
Requirements for awarding credit points
Attendance of practical classes, functional tests, participation in student competitions,health and sporting events, refereing of student competitions.
Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work
Preparation for testing of practical skills and proficiency in a selected sport.
Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes
1. The course’s pass mark consists of practical classes attendance, which must be at least 85% from the total number of practical classes.
2. In addition, the performance in testing of physical abilities and testing in a selected sport will be taken in account.
