Course abstract
The aim of the course is to deepen students' understanding on sociological theories of the 20th and the 21st centuries. During the course the students are introduced with the main sociological paradigms in relation with topical social problems and research directions. The course focuses on classification of theories and trends in development of theories.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Master students acquire knowledge on fundamental sociological ideas in contemporary sociology; develop skills to be competent in sociological theories. Students develop professional competence in conducing sociological research and ability to apply appropriate theoretical perspective.
