Course abstract
Students are introduced with social legislation system in Latvia and Europe. There is an analyses of the norms of international rights as basis of social legislation. Program includes explanation of the most important spheres of social rights (rights of job, education, social security, housing, health) and shows mechanism of rights realisation in Latvian republic and EU. As well as the rights of the more vulnerable social groups.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
The course provides:
knowledge – on social legislation, social rights and realization mechanism of social rights : normative acts and system of authorities;
skills - to find out, use and analyze the various normative laws and regulations, to apply the norms of normative acts in problem-solving situations. As well as to analyze and critically evaluate the existing mechanism for delivering social rights within the needs of community members competence - able to orientate in the reglament of social laws in Latvia and Europe. Ability to independently deal with social rights violations related to problem situations in social life. Ability to be competent in problem situations and practically use the norms of social legislation in professional and social life activities.
