Course abstract
Students develop knowledge on various views in didactics in a higher school, various theories of didactics and developmental tendencies in Latvia and in the world. The students improve in the frame of the course: presentation skills in academic style and usage of e-learning environments, teaching methodology for courses of engineering and social sciences, and knowledge in developmental psychology. Discussions on teaching/learning problems in didactics are emphasized.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Knowledge: to comprehend, analyze and assess theories and conceptions on: development of studies in Europe, essence of didactics, studies and innovations, planned course results; improve knowledge on study methods, presentation, usage of visual, technical aids and e-learning environment; to comprehend, analyze and assess: a teacher and students as subjects of studies; theoretical conceptions on relation to EQF and pillars of life-long education.
Skills: to use knowledge in formation of courses and presentations in front of the audience; to make a dialogue; to perform and assess using various methods; to use Moodle environment Competences: able to use didactical knowledge and skills in formation of courses and presentations in order to promote students' ability to create new knowledge, skills and competencies and positive interface; able to cooperate with the students; able to perform in various audiences delivering information appropriately, and able to develop one‘s own competence.
