Course abstract
Study course gives understanding of basic assumptions for the transition process, taking in account short circuit types, causes and consequences. Synchronous machine transition process is being studied at sudden short-circuit events and during normal operation. Principles of short-circuit current, the periodical, aperiodic current components and calculation of the various types of short circuit of different voltage networks are acquired.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
• Knowledge - of transition process in electrical networks and units, the causes, risks, and prevention - the theoretical and practical aspects;
• skills - evaluation and choice of appropriate operational strategies to minimize the transient processes impact on electric net and its elements; • competences - proper operation of the electrical installations and electrical system, and assessment of interaction between them , recommendations for proper development and use.
