Course abstract
The aim of the study course is to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills in research elaboration, including elaboration of bachelor thesis. Research elaboration study course gives basic knowledge about types of studies, research planning, analysis of scientific literature, choice and use of research methods as well as skills to independently plan scientific research, obtain necessary baseline information and data, choose and use research methods appropriate to the aim and type of the study and to summarize, interpret and publish research results.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Study course provides
• Knowledge about types of studies in Latvia and abroad, research funding, requirements for elaboration of bachelor thesis, planning of a research, obtaining base line information and research data, types of research methods and conditions for using research methods for particular studies, as well as about summarizing and publishing of research results.
• Skills - to plan the process of research elaboration, choose and use appropriate research methods, to search for and use scientific literature, including scientific publications for the literature review, interpret, prepare for publishing and publish obtained research results. • Competence - to independently and effectively carry out a study - plan the research process, including elaboration of bachelor thesis, obtain necessary baseline information, use and analyses scientific literature, apply appropriate research methods, obtain, interpret, format and publish research results.
