Course abstract
The aim of the course is to get to know the working environment and the object of the agricultural production harvesting machines: fibrous, loose hygroscopic, biologically active; technologies of harvesting work: modes, energy and costs; crop production storage; machine designs: agrotechnical requirements, technological parameters.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Knowledge of the application of grain pre-processing and straw harvesting machines as a tool for implementing a complex process; about their offer, technologies and applicable machines and equipment.
Skills to assess the work to be done with grain pre-processing and grain harvesting machines, to choose technological and technical solutions for the operation of the equipment to be used. Skills are assessed in laboratory works, their reports, defense of work and control works. Competences to know the issues of cereal pre-processing and straw harvesting machines, to independently choose appropriate technologies and techniques for their implementation. Competences are evaluated in laboratory works, reports and defense of works, control works.
Course Content(Calendar)
1. Technological properties of potatoes, potato harvesting machines, potato sorting and storage – 6h. Test. Potato harvesting machines.
2. Vegetables as an object of harvesting, vegetable harvesting machines – 6h. Test. Vegetable harvesting machines.
3. Flax and hemp harvesting machines – 6h. Test. Flax and hemp harvesting machinery.
4. Fruit and berry harvesting machines – 6h.
Part-time extramural studies: All the topics intended for full-time studies are covered, yet the number of contact hours is ½ of the specified number of hours.
Requirements for awarding credit points
Test. All laboratory works have been worked out and defended, tests have been successfully written.
Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work
Preparation for tests using the literature indicated in the study program and consulting with the lecturer of the study course.
Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes
The credit of the study course depends on the successful evaluation of the study course tests.
