Course abstract | |
This course is intended to broaden theoretical knowledge and practical application of geographic information systems, as well as to provide insight in the methodologies and tools commonly used in the geospatial analysis. Students acquire the ability to create, illustrate and analyze geographic information in a broad range of disciplines related to the environmental science such as hydrology, ecology, forestry, agriculture, cartography. | |
Learning outcomes and their assessment | |
Upon the completion of this course students will have:
• Knowledge and understanding about concepts and principles of GIS, new technological capabilities of GIS applications; • Skills to select and critically evaluate the GIS methods used in the geospatial analytics; • Competence to use GIS technology, software and methods in their professional activities and scientific research. |
