| Course abstract | |
| Study object gives knowledge about forest ecology, typology, methods of sustainable forest management, management peculiarities of wetlands and waterlogged forest, they protection. | |
| Learning outcomes and their assessment | |
| During this course students acquire knowledge about forest stand structure and features, ways of estimation; tasks of forest typology, edaphic rows and methods of estimation; forest exploitation (final felling, thinning, sanitary felling, reconstructive and other felling); types of reforestation; also management and protection of wetlands. After course students can recognize different age and type forest ecosystems, calculate and evaluate dendrometric parameters. Also able to recognize forest edaphic rows and determine appropriate forest growth condition type. Able to find any information about forest stand or other ecosystem, using inventory documentation. Understands management of wetlands. After course students are able to analyze condition of ecosystem data. Take a part in discussions about legislation laws and regulations considering to wetland management and protection, if it is needed. | |
