Course abstract
The aim of the study course is the development of a diploma thesis, with which students prove their theoretical and practical knowledge and ability to independently solve issues related to the field of veterinary medicine, to draw reasoned conclusions. The student must prepare a draft of the diploma thesis in accordance with the requirements of the methodological guidelines.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of the research question, knowledge of the regulations for the development of the diploma thesis, compilation and analysis of research results;
The ability to summarize and analyze the obtained results, to draw conclusions and to present a diploma thesis in public; Students are able to carry out research work in the field of Veterinary Medicine.
Course Content(Calendar)
1. Clarification of the structure of the diploma thesis;
2. Development of the experimental part;
3. Data collection in accordance with the methodology; Data processing according to the methodology.
Requirements for awarding credit points
60% of the the diploma thesis must be developed (the methodology must be developed, as well as the literature review must be completed), the pre-defense of the diploma thesis at the respective institute ends with a formal test without a grade.
Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work
The diploma thesis is organized according to the course content, in accordance with the supervisor.
Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes
The study course is evaluated with a formal test if:
• the experimental part of the work is performed according to the methodology;
• a draft of the diploma thesis is approved by the supervisor, which includes a completed literature review and methodology, as well as a partial results section (i.e. 60% of the total diploma thesis); • preliminary defense and approval of the draft of the diploma thesis at the academic meeting of the respective Institute.
