| Introduction into speciality is a study subject tat introduces students into the formation of veterinary medicine and its historical development, achievements of veterinary medicine in prevention and treatment of diseases, human, animal and environmental protection, circulation of safe and harmless foodstuffs of animal origin for human consumption, structure, functions and rights of food and veterinary service, legislation qualification and fields of professional activities of veterinarians nowadays an association with EU and international organizations. | |

| Knowledge about achievements of veterinary medicine in history and vision of future about role of veterinarian in Latvia, EU and in the world; skills in bibliography and scientific data bases; competences in structure of LLU, organization of study process, legislation of study in Latvia and in LLU. | |
